Executive Coaching
What Is Coaching?
A balance between challenge and support. Executive coaching is most effective when focusing on the strengths and distinctive competencies of the executive.
Executive coaching is not to be confused with therapy, consulting, or mentoring. The International Coaching Federation defines executive coaching as:
- Inspiring leaders to maximize their personal and professional potential through thought-provoking discussions.
- Enhancing thinking, decision-making skills, and interpersonal effectiveness.
- Increasing confidence in order to carry out chosen work and life roles.
Over the years, based on integrity and trust, we have advised some of North America’s most talented executives on maximizing their organizational contribution, becoming more effective leaders, communicators and team players.
The higher you rise in an organization, the harder it is to find direct and honest feedback. As noted in a recent Harvard Business School article “Even our families, who want the best for us, can't be unbiased or totally objective.”
Typical coaching clients include:
- Experienced executives who need to push their leadership skills to the next level
- High potentials who need to be groomed quickly for leadership positions
